“Lexicography and Language Documentation”

The 14th International Conference of the Asian Association for Lexicography (ASIALEX 2020) will be held on June 16--18, 2020 by Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (National Agency for Language Development and Cultivation, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

We are very pleased to announce the participation of the following confirmed keynote speakers: René van den Berg, Ph.D. (SIL Internasional), Prof. Dr. Dadang Sunendar (Head of Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa, Indonesia), Rufus Gouws (Stellenbosch University) and Dr. Li Lan (The Chinese University of Hong Kong, PR China).

3. By Plane
• Take any flight from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport or Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport to Adi Sucipto International Airport in Yogyakarta.

From Adi Sucipto International Airport.
• Bus Trans Jogja

Take Trans Jogja (direction: Malioboro) at the bus Shelter at Adi Sucipto International Airport and make a stop at Malioboro 1 Shelter. This shelter is directly in front of Grand Inna (Inna Garuda) Hotel.

Conference Theme

Inspired by hundreds of local languages spoken in Indonesia, the theme of the conference is “Lexicography and Language Documentation” highlighting language documentation in lexicographical contexts. We welcome proposals related (but not limited) to the following topics:

  • Lexicography of Indonesian languages
  • Lexicography of endangered languages
  • Lexicography of specialized languages
  • Language data for lexicographic work
  • Multimodal data for lexicography
  • Corpus lexicography
  • Electronic lexicography
  • Pedagogical lexicography

  • The medium of the conference is English and Indonesian.
  • Submissions should contain the following information:
